Oklahoma Live Theatre
“Film is a business - theatre is a religion.” —
Neil Labute
To theatre people, this statement is true. To theatre people in
Oklahoma, this statement is the voracious secret that gnaws at our
soul. For us theatre means working months on something fleeting.
Pouring our every fiber into something we know will be gone in a
very short time. Working through frustrating circumstances such as
every major political figure in our city, when asked about the state
of the arts in Oklahoma City, simply mentioning the Oklahoma Museum
of Art and the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (two wonderful
places, by the way).
We artists are out here. Actors, directors, technicians, designers, dancers, singers, sculptors, painters, choreographers, writers, film makers, musicians! All of us striving to enrich our communities. Since you are reading this, you obviously know about Ghostlight Theatre Club and I thank you for your patronage. I urge you to visit some other theatres in the area. Some you may love, some you may not, but I guarantee you that the artists involved in those other theatres will greatly appreciate you being there. In this vein, please surf the following sites.
